A Trip Without Parents
Misha had been waiting for this weekend for months. His parents had finally agreed that he could go to Kyiv with his two best friends, Olya and Daniil, without any adults.
«Are you sure we can handle this on our own?» Olya asked nervously as they packed their backpacks.
«Of course! We planned everything. Tickets, hotel, maps… we’re ready,» Misha replied, trying to sound confident.
The train ride was long but exciting. They laughed, listened to music, and looked at the scenery through the window.
When they arrived, the city looked bigger and busier than they imagined. «Wow! It’s amazing!» Daniil said.
The first challenge came when they tried to find their hotel. The directions on Google Maps seemed clear, but the streets were crowded and confusing.
«Maybe we should ask someone,» Olya suggested.
«Good idea,» Misha agreed. They asked a friendly shopkeeper, who gave them exact directions.
After checking in, they went sightseeing. They visited museums, tried local food, and even took a boat tour on the river. Everything was perfect — until they realized it was already late, and they had lost track of time.
«Guys, we need to get back to the hotel before 10 PM,» Misha said.
They hurried through the streets, but Daniil’s wallet fell out of his pocket without anyone noticing. When they discovered it, the hotel was too far to return quickly.
«Oh no! My wallet!» Daniil exclaimed.
Misha stopped for a moment, thinking fast. «Let’s check the streets we walked through. Maybe someone found it.»
Luckily, a street cleaner had found the wallet and left it at a nearby café. They rushed there and got it back.
«That was close,» Olya said, breathing heavily.
«Yes,» Misha replied. «But we managed everything ourselves. No parents, no problems we couldn’t solve.»
By the end of the weekend, they felt proud. They had seen new places, handled unexpected problems, and realized they could be responsible, independent, and brave — even without adults around.
